Gourmet Catnip
Catnip is a member of the mint family (Nepeta Cataria).

The chemical nepetalactone, naturally present in our catnip stems and leaves, is what affects cat behavior. Initially catnip produces a hyperactive playful state in cats which can last from just a few minutes up to half an hour. After this burst of excited activity, it acts as a calming sedative for many hours afterward with most cats napping or lazing about peacefully.

When you present your cat with our catnip, gently rub between fingertips before presentation. This will allow the oils to be fully released and the fun to begin.

Our Gourmet Catnip also makes a wonderful tea for cat owners! If you are NOT pregnant or nursing, simply steep a teaspoon or so in boiling water, strain, sweeten with honey and enjoy a peaceful nap with your feline companion!
